Tony Elumelu Acquires Additional 6m Seplat Shares For £53.22m

Heirs Holdings Limited, a company controlled by businessman and Seplat Energy Plc Non-Executive Director, Tony Elumelu, has acquired an additional six million ordinary shares in Seplat Energy for £53.22 million.

The transaction, which took place on September 30, 2026, was executed in London at a price of £8.87 per share, according to a notification of dealing in shares by persons discharging managerial responsibilities and persons closely associated with them filed by Seplat Energy.

The disclosure showed that following the transaction, Heirs Holdings now holds 27,943,867 shares in Seplat Energy.

The company said entities controlled by Elumelu and his Heirs Holdings interests collectively hold 126.4 million shares in Seplat Energy, representing a 21.07 per cent voting interest based on the company’s issued share capital of 599,944,561 shares.

The latest purchase further increases the exposure of Elumelu-controlled interests to the leading energy company, which is listed on both the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and the London Stock Exchange.

The transaction involved ordinary shares of Seplat Energy, with the security identified under the company’s London Stock Exchange instrument code, NGSEPLAT008.

Seplat Energy disclosed the transaction in compliance with Rule 17.15(c) of the Nigerian Exchange’s Disclosure of Dealings in Issuers’ Shares rules and Article 19(3) of the UK Market Abuse Regulation.

Elumelu is a Non-Executive Director of Seplat Energy, while Heirs Holdings is one of the entities associated with his business interests.
The disclosure also identified September 30, 2026 as the transaction date and London as the place of the transaction.

The acquisition comes as Seplat Energy continues to expand its position as one of Nigeria’s major independent energy companies, with its shares actively traded on the domestic and international markets.
